Their basic job is to convert surplus or unwanted electrical power into heat. One of the most important specifications of a resistor is thus its power handling capacity, which is expressed in watts.

Metal Oxide Crossover Resistors

MOX Resistors (metal oxide layered resistors) are most suitable for use in high-end speaker crossovers. High power handling, high temperature resistance, low inductance and small tolerances. These resistors are well constructed, reliable and are suitable for many crossover designs, resulting in excellent performance. These metal oxide types are particularly suitable for higher-grade equipment or upgrades to existing crossovers.

For budget projects, these ceramic resistors are perfect. Certainly not as good as the MOX or Supreme resistors described above, these are the perfect cost saving solution for speaker projects or repairs.

L-Pads

L-Pads for speaker level control.

L-Pads are used for adjusting speaker levels. Used especially for high and mid frequency drivers, they can also be used for complete speakers if the power handling is suitable.
