Our Magnetic Mount DAB / DAB+ Aerial is a high-performance, portable radio antenna designed for seamless connection to digital car radios and aftermarket tuners equipped with a standard SMB antenna input. Featuring a magnetic base, this aerial allows for effortless surface mounting without requiring permanent bodywork modification, drilling, or vehicle alteration. Supplied with a 3 metre RG174 coaxial cable fitted with a right-angle SMB connector, it provides convenient routing flexibility for both temporary setup and permanent vehicle installation.

Because it requires no drilling or permanent fasteners, this passive antenna is easily transferred between vehicles, making it ideal for temporary installations, rental fleets, classic cars, or workshop testing setups. Designed for passive operation, it requires no external power supply or additional wiring modules.

Installation Guidelines & Placement Tips:

• Optimal Positioning: For maximum digital radio reception, position the magnetic base on a clean metal roof or boot lid as high as possible on the vehicle to establish a solid ground plane.
• Non-Metallic Surfaces: When mounting on fibreglass roofs, campervan shells, or boat structures, place a steel or magnetic metal plate (not supplied) directly beneath the mounting point to secure the base and support signal efficiency.
• Cable Routing Care: Route the 3 metre cable carefully into the cabin through door seals or body channels. Avoid compressing, pinching, or sharply kinking the RG174 cable to prevent internal conductor damage and signal loss. Ensure the entry point prevents water ingress.
• Connector Verification: Check that your DAB head unit or tuner features a matching SMB female input. The integrated right-angle gold-plated SMB connector ensures a compact, low-profile connection behind dash units.
• Adhesive & Fixed Mounting: Can be glued in place using a suitable adhesive or high-bond double-sided tape for permanent setups or non-magnetic surfaces.
