Important Warning for Original Vintage Radios

This is an active, amplified aerial specifically tailored for modern digital (DSP) tuners, such as new RetroSound units or modern aftermarket radios that are designed for boosted signals. We do not recommend using this amplified aerial with original 1960s or 1970s factory analogue radios. The high-gain amplifier can easily overpower a sensitive vintage tuner, causing RF overload and cross-modulation distortion (which results in muffled or non-existent audio). Furthermore, active electronics can inject high-frequency electrical switching noise directly into older electrical systems. If you are using a completely original vintage radio, a passive dipole aerial is strongly recommended instead.

Installation Details and Specifications

The WPA2 installs in seconds using a standard aerial plug and your radio's power aerial wire. This aerial uses magnetic field circuitry for enhanced radio reception. It can be installed almost anywhere thanks to the supplied 105-inch (approx. 266 cm) aerial lead and power wire.

• Place the main body of the WPA2 as high in the dash as possible or, using the adhesive backing, secure it to the upper windscreen or rear glass. Avoid placing it near any high-current wiring. If you want to test it first, use tape before sticking it permanently.
• Glass installation: Clean the mounting area with an alcohol wipe. Using a lint-free rag, clean any residue off the window. Peel the backing off the adhesive strip and press firmly to the glass surface. Be careful not to press too hard on windscreen applications.
• Route the aerial cable with the thin black power wire to your radio location. Connect the thin black wire to a 12-volt ignition source or the blue power aerial output wire of your radio.
• Connect the male aerial plug into the female aerial receptacle of your radio. Some radios may need an adaptor (not needed for RetroRadios).
