Active AM/FM/DAB amplifier and splitter that guarantees excellent separation of AM/FM and DAB signals. Suitable for connecting a digital radio receiver to a passive AM/FM antenna with a rod for reception of DAB frequencies. The AM/FM/DAB splitter allows you to recover the DAB signals from an AM/FM passive antenna, ready for digital radio. It is not suitable for active antenna systems (see the compatibility warning below).

Professional Installation Recommended:

This unit needs a +12V DC power supply for its amplifiers. We recommend connecting it to a switched +12V source so it turns off with the vehicle and does not drain the battery. To make sure it is wired correctly, with a proper signal ground and no accidental short circuits, we recommend installation by a qualified auto electrician or car audio specialist.

Important Compatibility Warning:

This splitter is designed for standard passive aerials, meaning an aerial with no built-in amplifier. It is not suitable for factory aerials with an integrated amplifier powered through the aerial cable (phantom power), active glass or windscreen antennas, or amplified aerial bases, unless the original amplifier circuit is bypassed. Please check your vehicle's aerial system before you buy.

How to Tell if Your Aerial is Passive or Active:

• Extendable rod, fixed rod, motorised and rubber whip aerials are generally passive, with no amplifier.
• Original front roof aerials are usually passive.
• Original rear roof aerials are usually active, with an amplifier powered through the aerial cable by the car radio.
• Aftermarket rear aerials usually have a separate power supply, often recognisable by a red wire.
