Installation & Wiring Warnings (What to be Careful Of):
- Do NOT Connect Both Coils Together: Never bridge, wire in parallel, or wire in series the 15 Ohm and 4 Ohm voice coils into the same amplifier output channel. Because the coils have different impedance ratings and winding properties, combining them on a single amplifier channel will cause uneven load distribution, acoustic distortion, and potential amplifier overheating.
- Verify Radio Impedance Match: Always confirm the required output impedance of your radio or receiver before connecting. Connecting a 4 Ohm load to a vintage radio designed strictly for 15 Ohm or 16 Ohm speakers can overload and damage the radio output stage.
- Dual Source Isolation: If connecting two independent audio receivers to the separate voice coils, ensure both systems are not driven simultaneously at high volumes to avoid inductive feedback between coils.
- Physical Fitment & Clearance: Measure mounting depth (50 mm) and cut-out size (118 x 170 mm) in your vehicle dashboard or enclosure prior to installation to ensure adequate terminal and magnet clearance.
