Active Sound System Interface for Porsche / Audi / VW / Seat / Skoda

Description:

This active system adaptor maintains the function of the original factory amplifier sound system. It enables the installation of standard aftermarket radios while keeping the original active speakers, so there is no need to rewire the car or replace the amplifier and speakers. It suits semi active and fully active car sound systems that use a Mini-ISO connection, either the 6 pin yellow connector or the 20 pin black connector.

ISO Speaker Connections: A brown ISO socket for the new radio's speaker plug, and a brown ISO plug for the vehicle's speaker connector, if fitted.
Simple Wiring: A black ground wire with an eyelet, and a blue wire for the radio's 12V amp remote output.

How It Works:

The interface connects to the vehicle's amp harness in place of the original radio, and passes the new radio's audio to the factory amplifier.
Systems with all speakers driven by the amplifier: The speakers are not wired at the radio, so only the amplifier connection is used.
Systems where some speakers are also driven by the radio: The vehicle has a separate amplifier as well as speakers run from the radio, so the vehicle's speaker connector must also be connected.
Some vehicles do not have a vehicle-side speaker connector. In that case, insulate the unused plug.

Notes:

Not suitable for Audi Bose sound systems.
Not suitable for VW Nokia DSP systems.
Not suitable for cars with MOST fibre optic systems.
Your new radio needs a 12V amp remote output, so please check the radio's manual to find it.

Installation Guide:

1. Remove the Radio: Switch off the ignition, then remove the existing radio.
2. Connect the Vehicle Amp Harness: Plug the vehicle's Mini-ISO socket (yellow 6 pin or black 20 pin) into the interface's red 20 pin Mini-ISO plug.
3. Ground: Connect the black wire with the eyelet to a suitable ground point, such as bare metal on the back of the new radio (if it is solidly connected to the vehicle chassis).
4. Remote: Connect the blue wire to the new radio's 12V amp remote output.
5. Speakers: Plug the brown ISO socket into the new radio's speaker plug. If the vehicle has a speaker connector, plug the brown ISO plug into it as well.
6. Insulate: Insulate any wires or plugs that are not used.
7. Test: Before refitting the radio, switch on and check that sound plays clearly from all the speakers.
