Monacor MDM-25 Round Butyl Sealing Cord

    Part No.: 0123140

The Monacor MDM-25 is a professional-grade, black butyl rubber sealing cord designed specifically for custom loudspeaker construction, subwoofer builds, and acoustic cabinet restoration. Malleable, easily formable, and permanently elastic, this 3 mm round butyl bead provides audio enthusiasts and professionals with a superior, airtight seal between speaker drivers, horn flares, and cabinet baffles.

Unlike standard foam tapes, self-adhesive butyl cord conforms perfectly to uneven surfaces, screw holes, and complex chassis shapes. It retains its elasticity over time without hardening or drying out, ensuring long-term acoustic isolation, vibration dampening, and leak-free enclosure performance.

    Key Features & Applications:

    • Airtight Acoustic Seal: Forms a high-tack, airtight seal around speaker baskets, driver frames, and terminal plates to eliminate air leakage in sealed or ported cabinets.
    • Malleable & Formable: Easily molded around circular cutouts, irregular flanges, and mounting hardware for custom-fit seals.
    • Permanently Elastic: Retains its flexibility and sealing properties over time without drying out or cracking.
    • Vibration & Resonance Control: Absorbs mechanical vibrations between driver frames and wooden or composite enclosure baffles.
    • Wide Temperature Tolerance: Maintains structural integrity across extreme temperature ranges from -40 to 90 °C.
