    Digital Storage Oscilloscope Experimenter's Version - 1 MHz / 5 Msps

    Description
The Digital Storage Oscilloscope Experimenter's Version is a highly cost-effective, microcontroller-based digital storage oscilloscope engineered for electronics enthusiasts, students, and workshop bench testing. Compact and versatile, it features a 1 MHz analogue bandwidth with up to 5 Msps real-time sampling rate, making it an ideal tool for audio signal tracing, low-frequency waveform analysis, and educational project builds. Non-volatile internal memory allows you to store up to six waveform captures directly to EEPROM, retaining your data even after power-down, while onboard serial connectivity enables bitmap screen exports directly to a PC.

    Technical Specifications:

    • Analogue Bandwidth: 1 MHz
    • Maximum Sampling Rate: 5 Msps (AUTO mode, 8-bit resolution)
    • Sample Memory Depth: 256 bytes
    • Vertical Sensitivity: 100 mV/Div to 5 V/Div
    • Input Impedance: 1 M Ohm
    • Maximum Input Voltage: 50 Vpp (1x probe)
    • Input Coupling: AC, DC, and Frequency Counter mode
    • Horizontal Timebase: 2 μs/Div to 10 minutes/Div
    • Trigger Modes: Auto, Normal, and Single
    • Trigger Edge & Level: Selectable rising / falling edge with adjustable trigger level and visual indicator
    • Waveform Storage: Saves up to 6 captures to onboard EEPROM (retained after power-down)
    • PC Interface: Bitmap screen transfer to PC via serial connection
    • Built-in Calibration Signal: 500 Hz / 5 Vpp test signal output
    • Frequency Counter: Integrated counter function (suitable for TTL-level input signals)
    • Dimensions: 110 x 65 x 25 mm (approx., without enclosure)
    • Power Requirements: 9 V DC, 1 A (1000 mA) regulated power supply required (2.1 mm DC plug, centre-positive, 5.5 mm OD / 2.1 mm ID - power supply not included)

For detailed operating instructions, download the DSO Experimenter's Manual (PDF).

    Suggested Uses & Applications:

    • Audio Signal Tracing: Diagnosing amplifier gain stages, pre-amp circuits, active filter networks, and synthesiser audio paths.
    • Educational & STEM Training: Learning basic oscilloscope operations, waveform characteristics, and microcontroller signal analysis.
    • Embedded Test Fixtures: Integrating a permanent, dedicated scope display into custom equipment enclosures, modular synthesiser racks, or testing stations.
    • General Hobbyist Testing: Checking low-frequency clock lines, PWM control signals, and sensor outputs on microcontrollers.

    Power Supply & Operating Warnings:

    • Power Supply Required: Operating this unit requires a 9 V DC 1 A (1000 mA) regulated power adapter with a centre-positive 2.1 mm barrel connector (not included). Verify power supply polarity prior to switching on.
    • Maximum Input Voltage Limit: Do not exceed the maximum input voltage of 50 Vpp when using a standard 1x probe. Exceeding input limits will damage the analogue front-end and microcontroller.
    • Frequency Counter Input Level: The integrated frequency counter mode is designed exclusively for digital TTL-level signals (0 - 5 V).
