Anthracite (charcoal / dark grey) coloured, open-cell polyurethane foam (10mm thick) with high sound transparency. Supplied in pairs in various sizes, so select your size above. Especially suitable as a front panel for PA speaker cabinets or other professional speakers. Ideal for restoring hifi loudspeakers: remove rotting foam grilles and replace them with new foam, just cut to size and fix into place.

Choosing a Size:

• Measure the front of your speaker, or the frame the foam will cover, and choose a sheet that is large enough.
• Allow an extra 10 to 20mm all round, so you can trim to an exact fit.
• One pack contains two sheets, so one pack covers a pair of speakers if each speaker front fits within a single sheet.

Cutting and Fitting:

• Mark the shape on the foam with a marker, using the old foam or the grille frame as a template.
• Cut with a sharp knife or scissors. Use long, smooth strokes on a flat board, and use a fresh blade for clean edges.
• Do not use a hot knife, which can melt the foam and release fumes.
• Fit the foam behind the grille, or fix it to the baffle or frame.
• If you glue it, use a small amount of adhesive around the edges only. Some solvent adhesives can dissolve or harden polyurethane foam, so test on an offcut first.
• Avoid gluing across the front area, which can block the pores and affect the sound.
• Staples, double sided tape or a frame are also good ways to hold it.

• This is grille foam, not driver surround or speaker repair foam, and it is not suitable for refoaming speaker cone surrounds.
