The RetroSound TS-42 surface-mount 2-way speaker system provides an ideal audio upgrade for classic vehicles, trucks, Jeeps, 4WDs, caravans and motorhomes where factory speaker cutouts are unavailable or impractical. Designed for mounting under the dash, onto kick panels, roll bars, or interior surfaces, these compact speaker enclosures deliver full-range sound without requiring vehicle modification or panel cutting.

Featuring a 4-inch woofer paired with an integrated tweeter, each speaker produces clean, detailed audio with clear highs and vocal clarity. The rugged enclosure design incorporates a multi-angle steel U-bracket system with threaded side knobs, allowing secure positioning and quick angle adjustments in demanding vehicle environments.

Installation Guidelines & Size Verification:

Enclosure Dimensions: Each speaker enclosure measures 116 mm wide x 110 mm high x 100 mm deep (4.57" x 4.33" x 3.94"). Allow for the overall width of 139 mm (5.47") including the side adjustment knobs.
Bracket Base Mounting: The included steel U-bracket features a base width of 79.8 mm (3.14") with 40.4 mm (1.59") slot spacing and 4.5 mm (0.18") mounting holes for flexible positioning.
Angle Adjustment: Position the speakers toward the listening area and firmly tighten the four included threaded side knobs to lock the desired angle into place.
Wiring Connection: Supplied with 2 metres (6.5 feet) of speaker wire per speaker, fitted with pre-terminated connectors for straightforward wiring to your stereo system. Route wires clear of pedal assemblies, steering linkages, and high-heat sources.
System Compatibility: Rated at 4 Ohms impedance with 25 Watts RMS / 50 Watts peak power handling, making them ideal for RetroSound classic radios, aftermarket head units, and compact amplifiers.

Important Safety & Mounting Precautions:

Secure Mounting: Ensure brackets are firmly anchored to a solid structural surface using suitable hardware. In the event of a collision, sudden braking, or off-road driving, unsecured speakers can become dangerous projectiles.
Care When Drilling & Screwing: Always inspect behind dashboards, kick panels, or bulkheads before drilling holes or driving fasteners. Ensure you do not puncture electrical wiring harnesses, fuel lines, brake lines, or structural components.
Avoid Obstructions: Position enclosures so they do not obstruct driver sightlines, pedal travel, steering operation, gear levers, handbrakes, or glove box openings.
Occupant Clearance: Mount speakers clear of head-impact zones and airbag deployment pathways.
Note: For internal / inside use only, the speakers are not weather or water resistant.
