This RetroSound brass collar nut kit is designed specifically for retro-style car stereo installations. It is used to securely mount and protect radio control shafts against the dashboard surface, preventing damage or stripping of the shaft threads during the final tightening process. While engineered primarily for RetroSound radios, these may also fit other vintage or aftermarket radio models sharing identical shaft thread specifications.

What It Is For & How to Use It

The brass collar nuts act as a heavy-duty anchor and protective spacer when mounting your radio shafts through the vehicle's dashboard or custom faceplate. To use, thread the flat washers and collar nuts onto the radio control shafts behind the dash bezel or faceplate, adjusting them to achieve the correct protrusion depth. Use the included shaft nuts to lock everything tightly into place. This prevents the primary radio shafts from taking direct stress or cosmetic damage while tightening down the outer bezel nuts. In some use-cases, it is used from the front of the dash or faceplate.
