Mundorf MCONBP MConnect Beryllium Copper Banana Plugs
Mundorf MConnect banana plugs are engineered for high-end audio connections, combining exceptional electrical conductivity with reliable mechanical spring tension. Precision manufactured from a specialized beryllium copper sheet alloy and finished with high-purity gold plating, these hollow 4 mm plugs deliver high contact pressure inside binding post sockets while preserving signal integrity.
Designed for direct solder termination, each plug features a dedicated side lip that allows speaker wire to be cleanly soldered without heat distortion to the main plug contact. They can be ordered as bare gold-plated plugs or with optional red and black protective housings for neat channel identification and touch protection.
Key Features & Applications:
- Beryllium Copper Construction: Provides optimal spring tension for high contact pressure and long-term connection stability.
- High-Purity Gold Plating: Protects against corrosion while maintaining low resistance and maximum signal transfer.
- Direct Solder Termination: Built-in solder contact lip simplifies cable attachment.
- Optional Red / Black Housings: Snap-fit thermoplastic polymer covers with hinged locking flaps provide colour-coded polarity identification and physical insulation.
- Stackable Design: Allows secondary 4 mm banana plug connections when fitted with the optional housing covers.

Usage & Soldering Tips:
- Cable Preparation: Strip approximately 6 to 8 mm of insulation from your speaker cable. Lightly twist and pre-tin the bare copper strand ends with high-quality audio solder, such as Mundorf MSolder Supreme Silver Gold Solder for Wires .
- Soldering Technique: Position the pre-tinned cable end into the side solder lip of the banana plug. Apply heat directly to the solder lip with a fine iron tip. Feed just enough solder to flow around the joint for a solid electrical bond, taking care to keep direct iron contact away from the plastic housing body.
- Closing the Optional Housing: Allow the solder joint to cool completely to room temperature. Once cool, swing the hinged flap shut and press firmly until it snaps securely into the main housing body to lock the cable in place.
