Monacor Bass Reflex Tube BR-100HP - Art. No. 0128600
Description
The Monacor BR-100HP is a high-performance bass reflex port tube engineered for high-output
loudspeaker enclosures and subwoofer builds. Moulded from durable black plastic, it features a flared outer outlet with
a soft, rounded edge designed to streamline high-velocity airflow and drastically reduce port turbulence and "chuffing"
noise. Featuring an internal diameter of 93 mm and an overall length of 140 mm, this port tube provides a generous cross-sectional
area to prevent port compression in high-power applications. The tube can also be cut shorter to precisely adjust the resonant
tuning frequency of your cabinet.
Key Features:
- Flared Outlet Design: Soft, rounded flare at the port exit minimises air turbulence and chuffing noise at high volume and high driver excursion.
- High Airflow Capacity: Generous 93 mm internal diameter provides an effective opening area of approx. 69.4 cm2 for unrestricted low-frequency output.
- Customisable Tuning Length: Straight section of the tube can be easily cut down to shorter lengths to fine-tune the enclosure resonant frequency.
- Rigid Plastic Construction: Moulded from high-grade black plastic for rigid, resonance-free performance inside the enclosure.
- Flush Flange Edge: 143 mm outer flange provides a clean, professional finish across the speaker baffle or rear panel.

Why Use a Flared Bass Reflex Port?
- Extended Bass Response: Allows a vented enclosure to reproduce significantly deeper, punchier low-end frequencies than a sealed box of similar size.
- Eliminates Port Chuffing: Standard straight-cut pipes create harsh air whistling and distortion when air moves rapidly. The flared outlet smooths air exit and entry for clean, natural bass.
- Higher System Efficiency: Harnesses the rear energy of the woofer cone to boost total bass output without requiring extra amplifier power.
Suggested Uses & Applications:
- High-output Hi-Fi floorstanding speakers, studio monitors, and custom PA loudspeaker cabinets.
- Home theatre subwoofers and automotive vented bass enclosures requiring high acoustic output.
- Upgrading or replacing un-flared, small-diameter ports to eliminate chuffing distortion in existing speaker boxes.
Installation & Mounting Tips:
- Precise Hole Cutout: Requires an accurate circular cutout (approx. 138 mm) in the speaker baffle or cabinet wall to ensure a snug fit for the main tube body.
- Airtight Adhesive Seal: Apply a suitable plastic-to-wood adhesive or construction sealant around the outer body when mounting to guarantee an airtight, vibration-free join.
- Length Adjustment: If your enclosure calculations call for a shorter port length to raise the tuning frequency, carefully shorten the straight end of the tube using a fine-tooth saw.
- Internal Air Clearance: Ensure the inner open end of the tube has at least 90 - 100 mm of clear space from internal cabinet walls or dampening materials to allow unobstructed airflow.
