    The Hirschmann GPS 916 V FLEX is a robust, low-profile roof/panel mounted antenna designed for active GPS navigation and vehicle telematics. Featuring an integrated active GPS amplifier within its compact base and a durable 50mm flexible whip, it provides accurate, high-gain satellite tracking for vehicle location, fleet management, and retrofitted navigation setups.

    Alternative Uses for the Secondary (FME) Antenna Feed:

    Although 2G and 3G cellular services are no longer operational, the secondary antenna feed (FME male connector) remains a fully functional passive radio frequency element. Because antennas are frequency-dependent rather than protocol-dependent, this multiband whip (850/900/1800/1900 MHz) can be repurposed for modern alternative applications using an inexpensive FME-to-SMA adapter:

    • LoRaWAN & Sub-GHz ISM Networks (915 MHz / 868 MHz): Perfectly frequency-matched for long-range, low-power telemetry, LoRaWAN nodes, Meshtastic off-grid comms, and remote sensor monitoring.
    • 4G LTE IoT & Telemetry (Cat-M1 / NB-IoT): Compatible with re-farmed low-band 4G networks, including Band 8 (900 MHz) and Band 3 (1800 MHz) for low-bandwidth cellular modems and gateways.
    • SDR & Signal Scanning (800 MHz – 1900 MHz): Excellent external vehicle whip for Software Defined Radio (SDR) receivers tracking local commercial radio, utility smart meters (915 MHz AMR), or near-band ADS-B aircraft data (1090 MHz).
