CB6M300 Multi-Signal CAN BUS Interface for Toyota, Ford, Holden, Isuzu, Mitsubishi, Nissan & VW
The CB6M300 is a multi-output CAN BUS interface designed to extract up to six discrete signal outputs directly from a vehicle's digital network. Engineered for commercial fleet management, telematics tracking, in-vehicle monitoring systems (IVMS), and mining safety compliance, this unit automatically detects vehicle protocols upon power-up without requiring manual configuration or programming. It provides dedicated outputs for vehicle speed pulse, engine speed (RPM), illumination, 4WD engagement, driver seatbelt compliance, and handbrake status.
Signal Output Specifications - Note not all outputs are available for all vehicles:
- Vehicle Speed Pulse: Approx. 3600 pulses per mile / 5796 pulses per km
- Engine Speed / RPM: 2 pulses per revolution
- Illumination / Low Beam: 12V On / 0V Off
- Driver Seatbelt: 12V Off / 0V On
- 4WD Status: 12V On / 0V Off
- Handbrake: 0V On / 12V Off
Wiring Connections:
| Wire Colour | Type | Function / Description |
| Black | Input | Ground / Earth |
| Red | Input | +12V power supply via 1A fuse (not included) |
| Yellow | Input | CAN High |
| Blue | Input | CAN Low |
| Brown | Output 1 | Lights / Illumination (12V = On, 0V = Off) |
| White | Output 2 | 4WD Engagement (12V = On, 0V = Off) |
| Purple | Output 3 | Driver Seatbelt (12V = Off, 0V = On) |
| Green | Output 4 | Engine Speed / RPM (2 pulses per revolution) |
| Orange | Output 5 | Vehicle Speed Pulse (Approx. 3600 pulses/mile) |
| Grey | Output 6 | Handbrake (0V = On, 12V = Off) |
LED Diagnostic Sequence:
The CB6M300 features built-in diagnostic LEDs to indicate CAN BUS status and signal output during installation:
- Stage 1: Both LEDs light up for approximately 1 second upon power-up.
- Stage 2: Green LED remains on while listening for CAN BUS data.
- Stage 3: Red LED turns on indicating CAN data detected and vehicle identification in progress.
- Stage 4: Once vehicle type is identified, Red LED stays on and Green LED pulses when the vehicle is driven.

Suggested Uses & Applications:
- Mining & Fleet Safety Monitoring (IVMS): Extracting seatbelt compliance, handbrake engagement, and vehicle operation data for safety logging hardware.
- Telematics & GPS Tracking Systems: Integration with commercial telematics modules requiring discrete vehicle speed pulse, engine speed (RPM), and 4WD activity signals.
- Taximeters & Speed-Sensitive Modules: Providing accurate speed pulse signals for taximeters, cruise control setups, or auxiliary speed interlocks.
Important Installation & Safety Warnings:
- The CAN BUS uses two wires for data transmission (CAN High and CAN Low, sometimes marked as "CAN+" and "CAN-"). Connect to appropriate CAN BUS lines using insulated solder joints. Do not cut factory CAN BUS wires.
- Connect power (+12V) via a clean, ignition-controlled regulated supply with an inline 1A fuse (not included). A solid chassis earth point is essential.
- Do not extend CAN High and CAN Low leads beyond factory lengths. If extending output signal wires, route away from high-noise electrical components such as ignition coils or heater fans.
- Disconnect the interface prior to carrying out vehicle OBDII diagnostic scans to prevent communication conflicts or damage.
