Acoustic Cloth Fixing Tape
Description
Acoustic cloth fixing tape provides a fast, clean, and reusable solution for mounting
speaker grille fabric to timber, plastic, or metal frames. Unlike traditional two-part hook and loop systems, this single-component
fastener uses a high-tack self-adhesive backing on one side and a micro-mushroom stalk surface on the other. Made from 100%
polyamide, the rigid mushroom heads penetrate directly into the weave of the speaker cloth to hold it tightly in place without
requiring spray adhesives, staples, or liquid glue. Fabric can be easily detached at any time for washing or swapping colours
while maintaining a clean, professional finish across the speaker frame.
Key Features:
- Single-Component Fastening: Attaches directly to the speaker cloth mesh without needing a secondary loop strip on the fabric.
- 100% Polyamide Construction: Durable synthetic material designed for long-term hold and repeated fabric attachment.
- Micro-Mushroom Gripping Head: Rigid mushroom-shaped heads penetrate the fabric weave for a firm, non-slip hold.
- High-Tack Self-Adhesive Backing: Strong pressure-sensitive adhesive bonds securely to clean timber, plastic, or metal surfaces.
- Clean & Mess-Free Application: Eliminates the need for aerosol glues, sticky residue, or mechanical staples.
- Discreet Low-Profile Design: At 16 mm wide and 2 mm thick, it mounts neatly onto narrow frame edges without adding bulk.

- Backing Type: Pressure-sensitive self-adhesive strip
- Adhesive Cure Time: Reaches maximum strength after approx. 72 hours at room temperature
Suggested Uses & Applications:
- Mounting acoustic speaker fabric to custom DIY speaker grilles, home theatre frames, and wall panels.
- Restoring or reupholstering vintage loudspeaker grille frames without damaging timber surfaces.
- Securing fabric in automotive, marine, or commercial audio installations.
Installation & Application Tips:
- Single-Strip Design: Apply tape only to the frame. A second strip is not required on the fabric side, as the mushroom heads lock directly into the cloth mesh.
- Surface Preparation: Ensure the frame substrate is thoroughly cleaned and free of dust, grease, and oil before applying tape.
- Application Temperature: Best applied at room temperature for optimal initial adhesive tack.
- Pressing Method: Wear a protective glove or use a wallpaper roller to firmly press the fabric onto the tape, as the mushroom heads are firm and rigid.
- Tensioning & Fitting: Attach cloth to one side first, then gently stretch across to press onto the opposite side.
- Cure Time: Allow up to 72 hours for full adhesive bond strength to take effect before heavy handling.
- Careful Removal: Peel acoustic cloth away gently from the tape when removing or exchanging to avoid over-stretching the fabric.

Important System Caveats & Compatibility Notes:
- Designer Cloth Incompatibility: Not suitable for use with our Designer Cloth range due to material weight and weave differences.
- Substrate Surface Caution: The self-adhesive backing creates a very strong bond and may mark or damage delicate veneers, soft paints, or friable surfaces if removed.
