The Burr-Brown OPA627AU SMD has a warm, valve-like sound that is favoured by many builders and upgraders. It is more laid-back than the AD825 and suits those that prefer this type of sound.

This means that it can be difficult to replace many leaded op-amps which usually have two internal op-amps (dual op-amp) in the one IC.
