    If you have an old car with a low voltage battery such as 6V or 8V and a normal negative ground chassis, then you will need one of these to run modern equipment. This device will allow the operation of standard 12 Volt DC accessories from a nominal 6V (5V to 11V) negative ground electrical system. The voltage converter uses a common ground, so isolation is not necessary and because of its efficient design, the current draw is negligible when no load is applied.
