Some op-amps are only available as surface mount devices but these often cannot be mounted in existing circuit boards. This adapter allows one SO-8 (SOIC-8) op-amp or other SO8 IC to be integrated into a standard pinout as an 8-pin DIP footprint and is particularly popular in high-end audio applications or electronic circuit development and service. Pins are optional!
