Leclanché NOS Paper in Oil Capacitors for Audio

Made in Switzerland, these NOS (New Old Stock) paper in oil capacitors are only available in limited numbers and values.

Used in valve amps for power supply filtering, or as AC interstage coupling elements, or in passive loudspeaker crossovers, they give stunning results.

Moreover, as they are designed for 0% failure under tropical conditions, the capacitors meet the highest expectations when it comes to stability and very long term performance in very high quality audio equipment.

NOS Capacitor Characteristics:

  • Film and foil design for very low ESR characteristics.
  • Machine wound and hand assembled in Switzerland.
  • Typically less than 10% tolerance on capacitance values.
  • Oil filled metal can design resulting in high RFI / EMI rejection and efficient damping of vibrations (passive crossovers in loudspeakers).
  • No deterioration or value fluctuation in high temperature environments such as in valve amplifiers (has been tested for 56 days at 70°C).
  • No PCB oil.
  • Only paper dielectric.
  • Special water repelling paint protects from moisture (built for tropical conditions).

Applications:

  • Speaker crossover networks.
  • Decoupling.
  • DC power filtering.
  • In valve amplifier HV (high voltage) supplies, use a few in parallel right after the rectifier stage. That is where the supply is the most noisy and will gain maximum benefit from having this quality of capacitor.
