Battery Power Supplies

Here we show how two batteries (virtually any type but highly recommended to be identical) can be wired forming a +/- power supply. One battery's negative pole is connected to the other battery's positive pole. The positive and negative supply voltages are then taken from the two remaining connections. The 0V is taken from the centre.

Using batteries as power supplies is a possibility for DACT phono and pre-amplifier modules CT100 and CT101. This is because DACT pre-amplifier modules have limited power consumption. Please make sure you read all the relevant datasheets and instruction manuals for the relevant pre-amplifier module before connecting any power supply. Battery voltages and energy capacity must be determined based on the requirements listed for the pre-amplifier modules. Make sure that the pre-amplifier modules are disconnected while rechargeable batteries are being recharged.

Care should be taken not to let either battery run flat while connected! Please note that we do not supply batteries for this purpose. Using a battery power supply is at your own risk!
