From Manger Sound Transducer to Manger Sound System:
"It is simply spectacular how unspectacularly the Manger sound transducer reproduces music."
11/99
Our sound system, aptly called the "Zerobox", lives up to its name and does not draw attention to itself but rather steps back to allow the more important task of the propagation medium to come forward: - the reproduction of music maintaining the dynamics and spatial imaging with which the microphone recorded it, without any technical interference. In other words, as a music lover experiences a live concert.
This ambitious aim requires on the one hand a Manger Sound Transducer which produces no self-made technical transient noise. On the other hand, a cabinet construction is needed which has no influence on the best possible music reproduction.
The rhombus-shaped cabinet, which through its shape prevents standing waves and resonances, is constructed of suitably selected high quality materials and houses the Manger Sound Transducer and a bass driver custom-made to Manger specifications. An ingenious system of inner bracing, constructed on the basis of many technical test data, prevents any cabinet vibration even at high volume levels. Additionally, the use of the newest absorption materials ensures that only music is heard and nothing else.
That is by no means everything. The real stroke of genius given by Josef W. Manger is to be found in the side radiating sound transducers. These do not only provide circular radiation, as often imagined, but the simulation of an infinite baffle. This has the unique advantage of sound radiation without any interfering effects as otherwise caused by narrow cabinet fronts.

"Nothing spectacular hits the listener's ears, unlike the way other systems draw attention to themselves, but rather the music is simply there, spatial and natural."
FAZ, Gerold Lingnau
